Wireless has a lot of crap to troubleshoot when it doesn't work. But never again will I do wireless for any of my other peripherals (except printing). I'll do wireless headsets because they're more convenient and the batteries usually last long enough before needing to be recharged. But a wireless mouse sure does, quite often, and most often at the most inconvenient of times. I do set a high bar for my stuff, including my mice.Ī wire, typically, never goes dead. When the Xbox Series launched most forum posts I saw were happy with AAs. I recall a similar furor at the Xbox One when it launched, but that was probably half bandwagon given how Don Mattrick literally killed his career that E3. There were flaws with the G2, especially the AMD USB hub fiasco, but I actually liked the AA batteries. That's why I love that Microsoft still allows for standard rechargeables to be used in their wireless Xbone pads, and it is also why I have a third-party gamepad for my Switch.Įveryone was hating on the Reverb G2's AA batteries, and while the 6ish hour battery life is mediocre, hot swapping AAs gets you right back in. I love being able to quickly pop in one of my rechargeable AAs in my G305. Yeah, I'm not a fan of built-in batteries either. Either it needs to be wired or it needs to be able to be recharged one way or the other.
